The great thing about Guacamole is that, since it is mashed, it can be used as a spread or as a dip, and it’s insanely flexible, adaptable and versatile. You can almost add in anything you like. So I added some spices in it, and it turned out great.

Guacaomole – Mexican Avocado Spread
Serves 2-3

Ingredients:
1 avocado
½ of a medium onion
½ of a medium tomato
1 green chilli – very finely chopped (you can reduce or increase the amount, according to your heat tolerance)
A few coriander leaves – finely chopped
Salt
1tsp freshly ground black pepper
¼ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp ground roasted cumin
2 tsp sour cream (optional)
Juice of 1 lemon

Method:
Scoop out the avocado and mash it with a masher or a fork. It should not be very smooth. I like to have some small chunks in it.
Add in the rest of the ingredients, i.e. olive oil, salt, pepper, chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, chilli powder, ground cumin and chopped fresh coriander leaves.
Mix everything, so that everything is incorporated perfectly.
Now add the lemon juice. Fold in that too.
Freeze for around 30 minutes, to develop the flavours.
Serve as a spread on your crispy toasted breads or as a dip.
